Artist's Comments

A variation on the Eros and Psyche myth.

Photoshop, wacom tablet.
This started out years ago as fan art and as I still like the background I redid it with new characters and a slightly different pose. These two are not based on anyone.

I used several references for the background and pose. The wing is from a parrot and the curtain was an old sheet.

It is not a photo manipulation, as some would have it, although I did use layers and the odd basic filter (sharpen, blur, diffuse etc.). Any lighting mistakes are my own.

Awwww, this is so beautiful. I love the light, Eros' hair and Psyche's exposed hip. It's just such a soft and tender picture. :heart:

Absolutely beautiful.

I love how it looks so real, yet still manages to hold a "paintery" style. I really like the shading and the soft lighting.

This piece deserves so many more comments and favourites than it has now. :/

I love this picture. The way Eros looks so ethreal fits all too perfectly with how a god should be portrayed. And the idea of a male Psyche is quite original in my eyes.

Very beautiful and original in your take on the tale.

The lighting is wrong, and the wings and other areas of this have pixellation that doesn't match the figures, which tells me that this is really a photo manipulation. Honesty is always the best route.
